We believe that the quality of our staff determines the quality of our program. Children thrive when their teachers are deeply interested and committed. As educators, the staff respects each child as an individual.
River School caregivers and teachers are qualified early childhood professionals who are required to meet our strictly enforced standards. They have been selected for employment because of their knowledge and experience in the field of early childhood education and because their educational philosophy and teaching style is compatible with River School’s. Every staff member completes a rigorous screening including personal references, a health examination, and fingerprint and child abuse investigation, by the State.
River School believes learning is a life-long process, for children as well as adults. Our staff is offered many opportunities to further their education and improve their teaching skills. Educational training and relevant workshops occur monthly and we encourage our staff to actively participate in professional organizations and to become involved in the local early childhood community.
