The Preschool staff at River School is made up of a talented and nurturing group of people. Each classroom has one Head Teacher, one Lead Teacher and two Assistant Teachers. The Head Teacher has a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, while most have a Master's Degree or are pursuing a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and often have their teaching certifications. The Co-teachers all have extensive experience in early childhood education, and many are pursuing higher degrees of education in the field. All team members collaborate together to create a cohesive, joyful child-centered classroom.
In addition to classroom teachers, we also have Music, Piano, Chess, Sports and Language teachers who provide enrichment programming for the children. These specialists are experienced in their given areas of expertise and provide an alternate mode of expression for the children outside the daily curriculum.
What makes River School a special place for pre-kindergarteners?
"River School is a special place for the pre-K year, because the environment that has been created in the classroom allows the children to take ownership of their space. There is a strong sense of community, not just in the classroom but throughout the entire school. River School Preschoolers feel pride in themselves as their confidence and self esteem increases and is supported by the enitre River School family. Children are encouraged to explore their natural curiosities and contribute to their world, in a meaningful way. River School has created a nurturing environment for the children to learn, to make friends and to have fun!”
